Nope, not getting old yet. Whee!
How much do I love that Emerson knits? THIS much. The actor doesn't really hold the yarn properly, but still, yay knitting! The sweater vest and gun cozies cracked me up. And I loved that he later got out of his rope bonds with a collapsible knitting needle.
I liked Chuck's love of languages and all the flashbacks and how she thinks of all household items in relation to cheese. I liked how she stole the security guard's swipe card by hugging him. However, I didn't really like how she kept butting in during the "minute" - stuff like that makes me frustrated b/c of wasted time and how it's usually a plot device to delay various revelations. But then we wouldn't get the episode-long plotline and all the detective stuff, so I can deal, as long as they don't make her too annoying. So far I like her but there's only so much naive earnestness I can take.
The musical interlude with Kristin Chenoweth was most amusing, especially how she kept getting interrupted. I'm a bit bummed that so far the two main female characters are the typical "enemies in the game of love", but maybe they'll become friends.
The overall plot was wacky and strange and colorful, just as I've come to expect. Seriously, this is a colorful show. I like that. It's never boring to look at, and I can only imagine what kinds of crazy vids it might produce.
The kiss inside the clear bodybags was cute, as was the partition in the car and how Ned and Chuck held hands through those big gloves. I'm looking forward to seeing how they continue the relationship without being able to actually touch.
The narrator is still in full force, but it's not wearing on me at all so far, so I'm happy for it to stay. It adds an interesting flair to the needed exposition and gets things moving quickly. Everything moves pretty quickly in this show, really. Totally blink and you miss it dialogue.
Can't wait for next week! The aunts are back!
