Fannish Argosies

Well, that was fun. Yesterday morning during programs I developed an extremely sore throat just out of the blue, which was worrisome but not enough to keep me from getting through the day. However, I had an overnight event to do last night and was hoping to see if someone else could take my place. Sadly, the person in charge of staffing those had gone home and it was a bit late to try calling anyone. So I thought I'd struggle on and just hope I didn't end up going hoarse or anything.

Sadly, that was the least of the problems. I started feeling more and more achy and run down throughout the evening and then just after 10 had to excuse myself from the tour group and hightail it to the nearest bathroom.

I almost made it.

Nothing sucks quite like having to call housekeeping, who are probably ready to go home soon, and tell them to come clean up vomit from the carpet. Yay. Spent the next thirty minutes in the bathroom with dry heaves before I felt well enough to hobble back downstairs. My coworker took one look at me and said please go home, so I did. I still feel bad about leaving him with the group all by himself, but hopefully someone else helped out this morning. I just wasn't in any shape to continue.

Luckily I feel about 90% better today. I took some ibuprofen and slept for almost twelve hours, which seems to have done the trick. Must've been one of those 24-hr virus type deals; a much, much better option than the flu or something (which I was afraid it was for a while there). Still gonna take it easy this weekend, though. I need to be rested up for next week, as I'm headed up to St Paul, MN on Monday for a work conference.

At least today gives me both new Pony (which was a solid, fun episode with lots of AJ!) and new Merlin tonight!
